HomeTown Competitiveness

The Emerging Leaders Summit was founded in November 2013 with a mission to motivate and embrace the upcoming leadership of the Treasure Valley. The event is for high school and college students from Ontario, Nyssa, Vale, Adrian, Payette, Weiser, Fruitland, and New Plymouth. Through the efforts of community partners and local leaders this free evening features a national speaker, food, Dutch Bros, T-shirts, interactive activities, and much more.

In its first year, the Summit drew about 100 students. The planning team set a goal to double that attendance in 2014 and did so with 250 students turning out for the second annual event. Again, the goal to double attendance was set. Thanks to the tireless efforts of volunteers and advocates from area schools the 2015 ELS was attended by 600-plus students who were touched with the important message that they are valued.

The ELS Planning Team would like to thank the following sponsors for making its vision a reality: Community in Action, Lifeways, Drug Free Communities, Ontario Lions, Malheur Federal Credit Union, Dutch Bros, The Boys and Girls Club of the Western Treasure Valley, Origins Faith Community, Red Apple, Payette Boosters, and Ontario High School.
